The title and also the pagination (numbered 129-198) indicate that the text is the continuation of La Déclamation Théâtrale, Poëme Didactique en trois chants, Précédé d'un Discours (Paris, Sébastien Jorry, 1766) (see), enlarged version of the Essai sur la Déclamation Tragique (see).
Some copies of the 1766 edition contained the two texts bound together (La Danse has its own title page dated 1767).
The volume includes the Réponse à une Lettre écrite de Province au sujet du Poème de la Déclamation.
