New expanded version of Essai sur la Déclamation Tragique (see). The publication was announced on November 15, 1766 in Grimm's Correspondance littéraire (VII, pp. 169-170).

Some copies have the version of 1766 bound along with La Danse, chant quatrième du Poëme de la Déclamation, published separately in 1767 (see).

The text was included in the collection of Dorat's complete works : Oeuvres de Dorat, Paris, Genève, Amsterdam, [divers éditeurs], 1764-1768, tome 4.1: La Déclamation théatrale, Paris, 1766.
