The Advertisement is followed by an An Essay upon the Present State of the Theatre in France, England and Italy. With Reflections upon Dramatic Poetry in General, and the Characters of the Principal Author and Performers of those Nations (London, I. Pottinger, 1760, 220 pp.). There follows an Introduction on the art of speaking (pp. I-XVI) and then The Young Actor's Companion (pp. 1-124).
